Dawn Breakers

What is a dawn breaker you ask? That is a great question with so many ways in which it can be answered. For today, let's look at the essence of a dawn breaker.
Simply by reading the two words, dawn breaker, you can begin to understand that a dawn breaker is one who brings light to the darkest places. This can mean he/she is one to bring the light to the dark places of the world, but also a dawn breaker brings light to the dark places in oneself and others.
We are always on a healing journey. There is always a place or space within ourselves that is not truly aligned to God. Those places in us that we are still holding onto that don't fully glorify the Lord.
This doesn't make us a "bad" person. It simply shows that we are recovering from a fallen state. Yes, Jesus did ALL the work on the cross, but we do have to appropriate that in ourselves and let it take hold and manifest in the renewing of our spirit, soul, and body.

The most poignant example of dawn breakers are the apostles of the first century church. This group brought the Light of Jesus to a dark (unknowing) world, both to the Jews and the Gentiles. This was not an easy task, and the majority of them did it unto death.
A dawn breaker is courageous, passionate, bold, steadfast, loyal, true, etc. You get the idea.
This is both what we need right now, and what is happening right now, especailly in this next generation. The dawn breakers are arising. The zealous, the sold out, the passionate, the bold.
These are the ones that the traditional religious group will look at and slander. After all, the religious leaders in the day of the first century church truly hated the dawn breakers of their time.
Dawn breakers will hear from Jesus and will follow at all costs. It will not matter what tradition or "old" religious ways call for. They will follow Jesus. Now this is not a spirit of disrespect. And we need to pray that those rising up as dawn breakers will not be entangled with pride, but simply steadfastness to the Lord.

We also need to be ready to recognize and affirm the dawn breakers. In Jesus' day, would we have been counted in the disciples? Or in the Pharisees and Sadducees? Or would we have waivered and walked away from both?
Very real questions.
They are arising. A whole army of dawn breakers. Will you be one? Will you support one? Will you scoff and slander one?
Not everyone is called to be a dawn breaker. No one is greater or lesser because they are or are not a dawn breaker.
Dawn breakers need love, they need support, they need affirmation and confirmation. Can they walk on without it? Absolutely.
Will they continue to fight for what the Lord has called them to? Absolutely.
Sometimes to the detriment of themselves? Absolutely.
Do they need people, and love, and comfort, and encouragement, and affirmation. Absolutely.

Dawn breakers need those who walk beside them, support, them, tend to their wounds even when they don't realize they have them. When they wear themselves out, they need a strong support person who is bold enough to tell them to rest.
There is not a heirarchy in this. If you are the dawn breaker, wonderful, find your support. If you are the support, find your dawn breaker. You may or may not know who these people are in the natural. Your heart may be drawn to call out for intercessors. Or you may be an intercessor called to pray for the dawn breakers. Be bold enough to know who you are and operate in that calling.
We need each other.
This is an image I created to represent the army of Dawn Breakers arising. The timing is now, the power is from the Lord, and the army is coming forth.

Are you a dawn breaker? An intercessor or support to dawn breakers? It's time to take your place in the army of God.
