Many of us grew up singing the children’s song, ‘This Little Light of Mine’. With the understanding that Jesus is the Light and that he lives in us, we can see a whole new picture. When we join our flame with that of Jesus living in us, His light cannot be contained. His light spills out and flows forth from our lives without ceasing. Our “little” light becomes joined with the Light of the World in overflowing beauty.
 
The lantern with the small flame represents the image we have of our own small light.
 
The light flowing out from the lantern and filling the space represents His light spilling forth from our lives.
 
You are the light of Christ to the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and recognize and honor and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
